Taiwan Wang Lai Biotech’s One-Piece Eco-Friendly Paper Straw Receives Multiple International Patents

Against this backdrop, Taiwan Wang Lai Biotech Co., Ltd. has invested in research and development to introduce its one-piece formed eco-friendly paper straw, which has been granted multiple international patents. The product is made using materials supplied by Asia Pulp & Paper and is certified under ISO 22000 and HACCP, reinforcing its food safety and quality management standards.

According to Chairman Huang Chien-Ming, the company has long focused on environmental sustainability and product safety. Through technological innovation, it aims to provide practical and eco-friendly alternatives. The newly developed one-piece paper straw is both plastic-free and adhesive-free, addressing common issues associated with conventional paper straws, such as softening and impact on beverage taste.

The product is manufactured using biodegradable materials and has obtained certifications and testing approvals from international organizations, including the U.S. FDA and TÜV Rheinland. Compared to conventional paper straws that rely on adhesives, the one-piece forming technology enhances structural stability and extends usability, reducing the likelihood of softening or disintegration.

The company noted that the straw can maintain its integrity in beverages for extended periods without affecting flavor. It also offers laser logo customization, catering to both functional and branding needs.

With tightening environmental regulations and growing market demand, Taiwan Wang Lai Biotech stated that it will continue to invest in related technologies and expand applications of sustainable materials to capture opportunities in the global green economy.
